A QUEST TO END CF

My painting was inspired by a boy with Cystic Fibrosis (CF) in 1965.

He overheard his mother fundraising and surprised her by saying that he knew what she was working for – “Sixty-Five Roses” – which is what he heard when she said, “Cystic Fibrosis”. These names have become synonymous in the CF community.

CF is a fatal genetic disease affecting the lungs and the digestive system, with many people not living past their 30s or 40s. It requires daily maintenance; however, hospitals and treatments are not what define me. I’m still a normal high school kid. I love hanging out with friends, listening to music, dancing, laughing, learning about science, and working on art projects.
