Welcome to our fourth annual Team Nicole event! Our adventure from Muskoka to Aurora is about creating awareness, raising money, and connecting people. Over the past few years we’ve raised a total of $28,413 towards CF research and my niece Nicole’s treatment plan. This year our goal is $10,000 towards CF research.
Cystic Fibrosis is the most common fatal genetic disease affecting Canadian children and young adults. At present, there is no cure.
Nicole was born with Cystic Fibrosis and was admitted to Sick Kids Hospital at birth, surviving life-saving abdominal surgery. Daily treatments and monitoring, regular hospital visits and admissions for various complications are a way of life for Nicole. When Nicole was 16, she unfortunately developed chronic pancreatitis, a complication related to Cystic Fibrosis and modulator therapy. This causes severe pain and greatly limits her quality of life.
