At this time of year, we can’t help but think that in 2013, things are going to be better. I am going to lose weight, go to the gym, land that dream job, get my finances in order, turn my business around…and the list goes on. We make New Year’s Resolutions with the best of intentions, but perhaps we are approaching it from the wrong angle.
The word “resolution” suggests that something needs to be fixed. What would be possible if we decided to celebrate the things that went well in 2012 and build on that momentum?
Take a moment to reflect and jot down your personal WINS of 2012. What were your challenges? What were the road blocks that you were able to overcome? Most importantly, what did you do particularly well? Once you have celebrated this past year, ask yourself, how I can be even better in 2013?
If you want to take your success to the next level, this is a great time of year to work with a coach. Coaching works under the premise that all of the answers are within you and the forward momentum comes from setting goals with actionable results. A coach will support you with:
• Committed Listening: A solid sounding board for ideas
• Vision: Creating a plan to support your growth
• Accountability: Keeping you aligned with your desired plan
• Support: Being there every step of the way to offer encouragement
• Celebration: Celebrating your achievement and success
“Your true path lives within you; you just need the courage to follow it”
Why not check to see if your company will cover the cost coaching services? After all, doesn’t your company want you to reach your ultimate potential?
