Is it time for a spring tune up?

Over the winter, I worried that I may have gone off track. Not like a dangerous derailment where the train flips over and all of the passengers burn an untimely death. Just a slight misalignment or a squeaky wheel that may need an adjustment.

Looking at my life through the lens of kindness and self-compassion, I’ve had a wonderful winter. Freshly baked muffins, coffee under the covers and plenty of cat cuddles. Afternoon adventures by snowshoe and ski when my conscience suggested that I should be back at my desk.

But, if we listen to the natural flow of the seasons, we learn that it’s okay to hunker down and to hit the pause button. Now it’s simply time for a spring tune up! My goal is to focus on fitness, to create mornings of learning and inspiration, and get to work in a more intentional way. Isn’t that what spring is all about? What has laid dormant comes alive with an earthy vigor, a fresh start along with a breeze of gratitude for a much-needed rest.

One of my coaching clients expressed it beautifully. She said that that she saw a bit more possibility than she had at the beginning of our session; that the door was open a crack. Although it was only a crack, I picture the light streaming in and illuminating what was there all along.

We can choose how we talk to ourselves. What shift are you looking to make and what impact will your inner dialogue have on the season ahead?

Compassionately yours,
